My XY DNA does NOT define me.

I read in a group discussion asking --about what you do to feel "womanly?" -- and some  women wrote about putting on makeup, or getting a mani/pedi makes them feel womanly. I wrote about my long hair making me feel like a powerful and spiritual woman. One woman stated, "I'm XX so that's enough to make me feel like a woman... " I responded that I am an XY CAIS woman and that my DNA does not define me.

What defines me as a "woman?" My memories. My upbringing, and then after that, by my own realization of my energies and sense of placement in this universe that feels "right" in my sense of connection with Mother Earth. It is how I identify since as long as I can remember; never any other way. My womanhood is innate, in the fiber of my being, in the way I utilize my senses, in the way I breathe and can feel my steady heartbeat. It is my place here in the world.
